About me..

First off let me introduce myself. My name is Dominick Richard Sabatino. I was born July 10th 1966 in Bay shore, New York, and I grew up in Lodi, N.J. Oh yeah and I’m Vegan. Don’t worry I won’t be pushing that on you although I believe the vegan lifestyle is the best way to go.
I have been in the fitness industry since 1996 and I am a certified personal trainer with specialty certifications in Total body flexibility, golf conditioning, functional training, exercise development, weight loss, and nutrition. I am also a Strength and Conditioning coach with focus on Mixed Martial Arts and Combat Conditioning.
I have been training in the martial arts since 1985 and teaching since 2003, and hold a 2nd degree black belt in Sil Jun Do, and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am also highly trained in Muay Thai and have trained in Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Shukokai Karate, Boxing, and Wrestling.
First off let me state, I do not have a PhD, a masters, a bachelors, or even an associate’s degree for that matter. Actually I barely got my high school diploma. So at this point you’re probably wondering, why would I read what you’re writing over all the others out there, books and blogs written by doctors, and well educated individuals. Well the answer to that question is easy, experience, real word experience. Theoretically speaking the science of weight loss is simple, create a caloric deficit, and lose weight. But we all know it’s never that cut and dry.
Thru out my years in the fitness industry I’ve experimented with many different diets. Using myself as a guinea pig I tried all the latest greatest diets to come out, and I’ve used basic nutritional theory to see what works, and what doesn’t. Then I took bits and pieces from what I found to be effective from all that info and put together a system that is both affective, and proven for weight loss and good overall health, a system that is easy to start, and easy to stick with long term.
What’s to follow will be my own personal food diary and exercise logs along with basic diet and exercise info. I’ll be posting shopping lists, meal plans, and recipes along with tips and advice on how to start and stick with both a diet plan and exercise program.
So if you’ve been ready to start but don’t know where or how, or if you’ve just been putting it off, now’s the time. Check back daily and jump on and enjoy the ride.
